Ornith.: Carpophaga, a genus of Columbide (Pigeons), which feed solely on fruit. The species inhabit the forests of India, the Moluccas, the Celebes, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. Their plumage is very brilliant; green, yellow, and purple are the prevailing colors.
