(Lat.), n. n. Stusrn(ste*rn)'usm(u4m). Gr., tnepvov. Fr.. s. Ger., S., Brust be in. The breast bone; a long, flat bone with which the true ribs and the clavicles articulate in front. From its general resemblance to a sword, its broad upper part has been called the manubrium, or praesternum; and the middle part, the gladiolus, mucro, or me so sternum. [A, 70.] Abdominal s.
