gar-rot', «. A Spanish mode of execution by strangulation, with an iron collar affixed to a post and tightened by a screw; instrument by which the punishment is inflicted. — v. t. [garroted; -roting.] To strangle with the garrote; to seize by the throat from behind, to strangle and rob.
