Universal

(ū-ne-vür's dl.) [L. universal is, belonging to the whole.] (Log.) A proposition which has the subject distributed, so that the predicate is declared concerning everything comprehended in it. It maybe either affirmative or negative. Thus, " all men are mortal," or, " no men are immortal." [s. 922]
