Dalmatic

—a wide sleeved tunic reaching to the knees, worn over the alb or ca ock at ma and communion by deacons; also a medieval state or coronation robe. As an ecclesiastical vestment it was originally white with wide perpendicular stripes of purple; as now worn it follows the color of the day with stripes of embroidery.
