Cooperage

Art of making casks and barrels, known to the ancients. Modern machinery is supplanting hand-work. Cooperage is also an illegal traffic in spirits and tobacco supplied to the fishing-smacks in the North Sea. The six fishing powers prohibited it at The Hague Convention 1887.
