Product of the ma of a body into its velocity at any instant: in symbols, Mv. It measures the intensity of an impulse which overcame the inertia of the body and imparted to it the given velocity. See INERTIA and LIVING FORCE. Momiers. Name given in 1818 to evangelical Protestants in Switzerland, who were noted for the fervency of their religion.
