Athetosis

(ath-et-o'-sis). A symptom most frequently occurring in children, and characterized by continual change of position of the fingers and toes, and inability to keep them still, save in sleep. It is due to some lesion or derangement of the brain or cord. It is also called " post-hemiplegic chorea," from its occurrence after hemiplegia, in adults. A., Double Congenital.
