athetosis

(ath-ct-o’sis) (Gr. ἄθητος not fixed). An affection marked by continuous movements of the fingers and toes, occurring chiefly in children, and due principally to a brain lesion: called also post-hemiplegic chorea. Gouble congenital a., infantile spasmodic paraplegia.
