Acetone

CH, CO.CH,. Bpt. 56° C. Dimethyl ketone. Liquid of ethereal odor, present among the products of the dry distillation of wood, but produced usually by heating dry acetate of lime. Used as a solvent and in the manufacture of chloroform.
