HYACINTH US

(Lat.), n. m. Hi(hu)-a3-si2n(ki2n)'thu3s(thu4s). Gr., vdieivdoi;. Fr., hyacinthe. Ger., Hyacinthe. A genus of the Liliacece. The HyacinthetK (Fr., hyacinthees; Ger., Hyacinth een) of Dumortier are a tribe of the Liliacece, including Muscari, Hyacinth us, Scilla, Urginea, Allium, etc. (mostly included in the Scillece of Bentham and Hooker). The Hyacinth i of Adanson are the same. The HyacinthinuK of Batsch are a family of the Campana les, and of Link a suborder of the LiliacecK, including Hyacinth us, Phormium, Lachenalia, etc. [B, 42, 104, 170 (a, 24).] Confectio de hyacintho.
