Bright’s Disease

Disease of the kidney, a ociated with albuminuria, and often with dropsy. The treatment may include vapour baths, hot packs, cupping, sponging, the injection of pilocarpine, and other methods of increasing perspiration, which the nurse must attend to. The urine must be measured, tested for albumen, and examined for casts and epithelium. The diet ordered must be strictly adhered to. Uræmic fits and, rarely, mental disturbance, should be watched for. Renal disease and nephritis are other terms for kidney disease.
