Town of e. France, at junction of the Ouche and Suzon; capital of Burgundy 1007-1477, when it fell to France Dijon. The Swi besieged it 1513; Germans took it Oct. 1870. It is a center of the Burgundy wine trade. Pop., 1891, 62,307.
