Omnibus

(abbrev. 'Bus,) (õm'ne-bus.) [L., for all.] A large carriage, with seats affixed lengthwise, drawn by horses, and commonly used as public conveyance for the locomotion of pa engers in large cities. They first appeared in Paris in 1825, in London in 1829. [s. 663]
