(Lat. for all.) The name given to a peculiar kind of public carriage, too well known to require to be described, which takes a number of pa engers at a cheap common rate. They were first introduced into Paris in 1825, whence they were introduced into London in 1829; and they are now to be met with in almost every large town both of this country and the Continent.
