Tan acetum vulgar e. The herb and flowers of this plant, used sometimes as a kind of medicinal 'pot-herb, have a disagreeable though somewhat aromatic odour, and a strong nauseous bitter taste. A small portion is sometimes added to omelets, and we have heard of Tansy puddings. [s. 1426]
