DEUTERONOMY

The name given to the last book of the Pent a teuch. The term is composed of two Greek words, Itvn^i, second, and v6u,os, law; and is equivalent to the Mischna of the Hebrews, who thus designated the book of Deuteronomy, from its containing a recapitulation of the laws and ordinances scattered over the other books of Moses.
