Education

(ěd-u-kā'shūn.) [From. L. edu co, I bring up.] In its most extended sense, the art of developing and cultivating the physical, intellectual, and moral faculties. Physical education includes all that relates to the organs of sensation and the muscular and nervous system. Intellectual education develops and improves the powers of the understanding. Moral education comprehends the various modes of cultivating and regulating the affections, and forming right ideas as to the relation of man to man. [s. 317]
