PALM-TREE CABBAGE

or Borecole, a handsome variety of kale, six feet or more in height, with a straight, strong, leafle stem supporting a top cluster of leaves, three or four inches in width and two to three feet in length, very dark green, almost black, finely crimped and with rolled-under edges. It is grown in France chiefly as an ornamental plant, but Italians raise it for the table.
