Arbutin

(ar’ ’-bu-tin) \_arbtitus, the wild strawberry tree], (C12H]607)2H20. A bitter glucosid obtained from Uva ursi, or bearberry. It is neutral, crystalline, and resolvable into glucose and hydro quin on. It is diuretic. Dose gr. xv-xxx (1.0—2.0). See Uva ursi. 76
