Alexander von, an Austrian statesman, born in Loosdorf, Jan. 4, 1813; was Minister of Justice in 1848, of the Interior in 1849-1859; and, subsequently, amba ador’ to Rome. In 1855, he negotiated the Concordat with the Papacy which brought Austria into submi ion to the Roman Church. He died Noy. 15, 1892.
