— Bilge-logs. Logs of timber in the form of a keelson, placed on the ceiling or upon the frames in the bilge of a ve el for extra strength. — They are seldom filled in new ve els, but often in ve els of considerable age, or such as require strengthening longitudinally in the bottom, whether on account of straining through grounding, or other causes.
