Ethylene

(eth’- il-en) [o’ltirjp, ether; vhj, matter]. Olefiant gas, C2H4. A colorle , poisonous gas, which burns with a bright, luminous flame, and when mixed with air explodes violently. It is one of the constituents of illuminating gas. E. Bromid, a light, brownish-colored liquid with the formula, C2- H4Br2. It has been used in epilepsy. Dose rr\J/(-2 (0.05-0.13). Unof. E.
