Ethylene

CH.:CH,. Olefiant gas; gaseous hydrocarbon, prepared by the action of very hot sulphuric acid upon alcohol. It burns with a luminous flame, and is one of the important illuminants present in coal gas. It combines directly with bromine and chlorine.
